ACHIEVEMENT OF THE MINISTRY

• The Ministry has positioned Ebonyi State as an investment hub to investors all over the country and beyond through massive and persistent investment promotion programs.

• The State Government through the Ministry of Trade and Investment has continued to engage investors, relevant MDAs, CSOs, the media etc for the hosting of a maiden edition of Ebonyi Investment Summit coming up in 2025.

• The Ministry of Trade and Investment has received 14 investment proposals from Ebonyi International Scholars Association in collaboration with expatriates investors on investment interests in the state in areas of establishing Hydropower, Gas plants, Salt development, Agro Chemical production, made in Ebonyi car factory, Household water metering& management, made in Ebonyi Solar electrical etc with a view to reviewing same and advising the state governor accordingly for massive industrialization of the State in line with the peoples charter of needs programmes.

• The Ministry of Trade &Investment through Ebonyi Shopping mall has facilitated a geometric boost to the State IGR through continuous allocation of spaces to investors at the Mall and creation of over 200 jobs at the mall.

• The Ministry has completed total overhauling and maintenance services at Ebonyi shopping mall. These maintenances were flood control though gigantic drainage system, replacement of broken glasses around the edifice, roof drainage repairs and repairs and installation of 1000KVA generator to enhance alternative and affordable power supply at the mall to enhance effective service delivery.

• The Ministry has maintained persistent interface with the management of Ebonyi Shopping mall for effective management and coordination of Investment activities at the mall to enhance full optimization of the edifice for improved IGR, job creation and expansion of SMEs in the State.

• The Ministry has facilitated collaboration agreement between Ebonyi State University (Nigeria) and CESIC- University - Unizer/Zaragoza/Toledo (Campus De Excellence in International (Spain) on:
• The establishment of international business chairs, development of research line of common interest.
• The establishment of a granulation plant and development of research in Agric and Mining in Ebonyi State.

• The Ministry of Trade and Investment in collaboration with the Ministry of Aviation has engaged Intech Financial, UK Limited on:

• Setting up new airlines in Ebonyi International Airport for cargo & passengers
• Establishment of aeronautic institution in Ebonyi State for capacity training and maintenance of airlines in the State.

• The Ministry is currently exploring an engagement with Family Homes Funds to access the sum of N4b fund for the construction of affordable housing in Ebonyi State. These housing estates target over 400 housing units for staff of public institutions and civil servants in the state to cushion the effect of perennial shortfall of housing in the state. His Excellency has just given his approval. Very soon the project will commence.

• The Ministry has continued to ensure effective supervision and management of Ebonyi Investment and Property Company LTD for effective service delivery.
